My name is Erin Azouz. I'm a photographer, writer, musician, and adventurer. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. In 2009, I graduated from California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Photography & Media. I also moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico that year, where my love of nature really began to breathe new life into my creative work.
In 2015 I met and fell in love with my cariño Mehedi. We immediately bonded over a love for adventure and being outdoors. In 2016 we took a leap of faith, flying down to Mexico on one-way tickets with our bicycles. We challenged ourselves to see how far South we could make it. We did everything we could to stay on the road for as long as possible, sharing photos and stories through our website, Let's Go Cariño, and crowd-funding $1 per mile. We cycled 6,500 miles after raising $6,500, making it all the way to Northern Peru from Central Mexico in 14 months.
After 14 months of living on a bicycle, I realized just how profoundly beautiful life can be if we take the hardships, challenges and moments of fear to learn something new about ourselves. To take every moment as a gift, and an opportunity to grow. To take whatever circumstances we're given and turn it into gold.
